Harlem Fashion Week is known for fashion shows with hundreds of attendees but with COVID the company has opted to produce “fashionably safe” events.
It’s part of a series of gallery exhibits and boutique shows that will celebrate NYFW and Black History Month.
“Maintaining Creativity during Covid has been both the goal and the challenge for the fashion industry during this Pandemic. Harlem Fashion Week continues to be innovative by taking a different approach to NYFW by focusing on fashion photography in our new exhibit, Capturing the Black Experience in Fashion,” says Yvonne Jewnell, Creative Director and Co-Founder.
All events will be held at the Kente Royal Gallery in Harlem. A core value of Harlem Fashion Week is to support the Harlem Community.
The exhibit will run from February 5th-10th, 2022; with special presentations on February 5th, 6th, and 9th, 2022.
The theme is “Celebrating the Black Experience in Fashion” HFW will also have a special section of the exhibit honoring the legacy of Andre Leon Tally.
