An old wood house on the west side of Broadway (between West 123rd and 124th Streets), West Harlem, New York, November 16, 1898.
The photograph looks from the white picket fence house northwest from 124th Street towards 125th Street, as a smaller home sits between the house and the white apartment building sitting in the background.
Most of these photos were shot by James Reuel Smith, who walked through Harlem and uptown documenting wells and springs in the area.
