As WE ACT celebrate Earth Month Uptown, their series of Free events across Harlem continues throughout April 2019.
Check them out here:
April Membership Meeting
Saturday, April 13th, 10 AM – 1 PM ET
Crucifixion Church, 459 West 149th Street (at Convent Ave)
Be sure to join WE ACT tomorrow for our April Membership Meeting as WE ACT have invited the elected officials who represent Harlem at the federal level to join us for a Federal Town Hall. Members will have a chance to ask them questions about our Federal Policy Agenda. The meeting will also feature a workshop on the intersection of waste, consumption, and environmental justice. Be sure to make note of the new location, and please RSVP!
Earth Day Fun Run
Monday, April 22nd, 7 – 8 PM ET
Harlem Run Plaza in Marcus Garvey Park
Join WE ACT for a FREE Earth Day “fun run” with our partner Harlem Run. WE ACT will be meeting (and finishing) at Harlem Run Plaza in Marcus Garvey Park (drop your bags at Harlem Shake, 124th Street & Lenox Avenue, and enter the park from the northeast corner). Whether you are a runner, jogger, or walker, there will be a group for every age and ability. Please RSVP!
Swap Shop & Repair Fair
Saturday, April 27th, 12 – 3 PM ET
Fort George Presbyterian Church, 1525 Saint Nicholas Avenue (at 186th Street)
Thanks to a Citizens Committee for New York City grant, WE ACT have invited the community to bring gently used home appliances, books, clothes, etc., that they can swap for something “new-to-them.” We ACT will also be hosting reuse and repair demonstrations throughout the day. And Saint Nicholas Avenue from 181st Street to 190th Street will be open to pedestrian traffic that day, for the City’s Car Free Earth Day, so WE ACT expect additional “traffic” for this event. Please RSVP!
