March is Women’s History Month, how appropriate to present a dance work that focuses on the social, political, emotional and psychological experiences of women. The nathantrice/RITUALS project-by-project dance theater in association with Kumble Theater presents the Recognizing Women Project. The performances begin Thursday March 3 and run through Sunday March 6 at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts located on the Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University. Recognizing Women Project was created in 2001, but remains an evolving collaborative work. The vision is to include the experiences; and in many cases the actual artistic input of women in the arts, academia and professional/ business sector. This insight has aided Trice in creating a multi-dimensional work of great understanding and sensitivity.

In addition to the Recognizing Women Project the company will perform works from the repertoire, including a world premiere entitled One’s Trilogy. The Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts located at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. Flatbush Ave. between DeKalb Ave. and Willoughby St. Show times are Thursday and Friday 7:30 pm, Saturday 7 pm, and Sunday at 3pm. The Saturday performance will include a post performance talk with the artist and reception.
