Uptown Yoga Takeover At The SOULfest NYC In Harlem

SOULfest NYC, the uptown yoga event for the community by the community will be held on May 20, 2017 from 9am – 5pm at Adam Clayton Powell Junior Plaza, 163 West 125th Street, New York, NY 10027.

Admission to SOULfest NYC is free. Attendees and friends of the community are encouraged give a donation instead of paying an admission fee.
 
SOULfest invites all backgrounds, all ages, and all bodies to participate in Harlem’s all day event.  SOULfest projects 2,000 attendees. As of today 700 attendees are already registered on EventBrite for the event.
Event co-producer Lara Land, a Harlem resident and business owner, says “Feeling the soul of the community goes beyond the plate. SOULfest NYC comes at a time when we need it most. [SOULfest] is Harlem’s example of choosing peace, health and unity.” This marks Land’s third annual community yoga event and first production partnership with NY Yoga + Life Magazine, the event’s former media sponsor.
 
A one of a kind yoga event focused on inclusion, diversity and mindfulness – SOULfest NYC will feature yoga classes presented by renowned yogis including: Dana Trixie Flynn, owner of the legendary Laughing Lotus studio as well as former Harlem resident, Faith Hunter who will be commuting from her home in DC to participate in this year’s uptown yoga event. In addition, Lauren Imparato will be teaching a groundbreaking Spanish spoken class, honoring New York’s hispanic communities and marking the first of it’s kind in an NYC yoga festival history.
 
Proceeds raised by SOULfest will directly benefit and raise awareness of non profit foundation Three and a Half Acres Yoga and the organizations partners: NYHRE, CCNY Department of Public Safety, and many more.
