Pat and Allan Harris opened the doors of Harris Harlem Brownstone on Saturday, October 25 hosting Harlem After Dark. Pat, a producer and Allan, a jazz vocalist and guitarist, were gifted two baby grand pianos and Harlem After Dark was born.
As a way to share in the gift of giving, the invitation-only event welcomed friends and captivated the old-time atmosphere of the historic brownstone. The synergy of the evening included great music, good food, and great people.
Guest enjoyed the energy of the evening as they gathered around the black lacquered baby grand with Allan Harris on vocals and pianist Emmett Cohen. Ukrainian jazz bassist Ovrutski Sigali, soloist Lianne Marie Dobbs, and jazz vocalist Tessa Soute also entertained throughout the evening as guest relaxed indoors and under the moonlight.
The glow of the fireplace and aroma of the evening included a Southwestern cuisine featuring Texas chili, fresh greens, fine wine, and dessert to die for. Guest worked their way around the brownstone chatting with the likes of actor Isiah Whitlock from VEEP, Gotham and The Wire, Wall Street Journal jazz critic, and author Will Friedwald, Sissy Gamache of MNN, author Lisa Blackman, and Ted Panken.
Harlem After Dark events are held during the fall and spring season and is an evening never to be forgotten at Harris Harlem Brownstone.
