U.S. News & World Report Ranks NYC Health + Hospitals’ 11 Acute Care Sites As High Performing From Harlem To Hollis

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that its 11 public hospitals are each ranked as “high-performing” in at least one category by U.S. News & World Report in their 2022-23 Best Hospitals rankings.

The annual report helps guide patients, in consultation with their doctors, to the right hospital when they need care. U.S. News Best Hospitals ranked hospitals in the U.S. in 15 adult specialties, as well as recognized hospitals by state, metro, and regional areas for their work in 20 more widely performed procedures and conditions.

“Every New Yorker deserves access to quality health care,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams. “I’m proud that every one of NYC Health + Hospitals’ public hospitals have been recognized for the world-class care they offer to some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers across the city.”

“NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island is honored to have been named by U.S. News World Report as ‘high performing’ in four categories. Our multidisciplinary team excels in caring for patients dealing with congestive heart failure, COPD, diabetes, and stroke,” said NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island CEO Svetlana Lipyanskaya, MPA. “We have made significant investment in primary care to address chronic diseases such as diabetes, and have onboarded several life-saving services and programs, including: a new cardiac catheterization lab, a new percutaneous coronary intervention program, and certification by the Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Adding these life-saving clinical services ensures that care for heart attack and stroke – for which a quicker response means a better outcome – is available right here in our community.”
