Uptown’s Ydanis Rodriguez stated, “As someone who has been fighting on behalf of small businesses since the start of the pandemic, I am happy to hear that Mayor de Blasio will be extending the outdoor dining initiative year-round. This year has presented many financial challenges for small businesses. We must continue exploring new innovative ways that can help revitalize our City.
The Open Restaurants program has allowed small businesses to survive and slowly recover financially. In September 30th, the Transportation Committee jointly with the Committee on Consumer Affairs and Business Licensing, will conduct an oversight hearing on Outdoor Dining and the City’s Open Restaurants Program during COVID-19. We look forward to discussing the impact Outdoor Dining and the Open Restaurants program has had on our local small businesses.”
