The State Journal reports that Barack Obama Foundation building President Barack Obama’s future library is adding the versatile Thelma Golden to its board. She’s the director and chief curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem.
Venture capitalist John Doerr is also joining the board. Doerr has raised major sums for Obama and other Democratic candidates. He’s also served on Obama’s jobs council.
Obama’s former White House social secretary Julianna Smoot is rejoining the board. Smoot held top fundraising roles in Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. She stepped aside last year during the site selection competition.
The foundation announced this year that the Obama’s had chosen Chicago to host the library, not Harlem where he lived and went to school at Columbia University.
