The Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps Conducts Major Back To School Donation Campaign Event

August 29, 2022

The first day of the event took place on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps Community Center at 540 Lenox Avenue, New York, NY.

The Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps made sure that local children return to school with high-quality backpacks and school supplies.

Inflation is hurting many families and forcing them to live paycheck to paycheck.

This program enables them to give their children the supplies they need as well as the confidence to focus on learning.

The kids were given giant displays of backpacks, and Dozens of kids and parents picked up the backpacks, including about the year-long activities held by The Salvation Army’s officers, and volunteers.

The event was open to the Harlem community, it’s an extension of the work the nonprofit does to support kids’ literacy and development throughout the school year.
