The Greater Harlem Chamber Of Commerce Hosts Harlem Week Jobs & Career Fair

The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Festival of New York, will host a Jobs and Career Fair during the 48th annual HARLEM WEEK.

More than 40 businesses spanning the fields of health, technology, education, hospitality, construction and government are looking to fill over 250 roles.

The Fair opens on Wednesday, August 17th from 10a-6p at Shepard Hall at the City College of New York. More than 40 businesses spanning the fields of health, technology, education, hospitality, construction and government are looking to fill over 250 roles.

The day-long event will also include networking and professional development opportunities. Job seekers can participate in workshops on resume writing, personal branding, interview preparations, tourism and the service industry, technology and cybersecurity,  and emerging industries such as recreational cannabis.

Applicants will also be able to take professional photos to ensure that they leave with all the necessary tools to build a strong portfolio. 

The HARLEM WEEK Jobs and Career fair is part of the Festival of New York, a citywide celebration of comeback, community, and unprecedented collaboration of more than 300 NYC organizations throughout the summer. 

Confirmed participants include Athari Recruiting, Ben & Jerry’s,  Carver Federal Savings Bank, Chase, City College of New York, Idealist, Indeed, Columbia University, HHM, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Linkedin, MTA, NYC & Company, NYC Administration for Children’s Services, Omni Hotels, among others.

HARLEM WEEK

HARLEM WEEK is an annual celebration of the best of Harlem which works to promote its rich African-American, African, Caribbean, Hispanic, and European history, as well as arts, culture, religion, business, entertainment, and sports.

HARLEM WEEK began in 1974 as HARLEM DAY, a one-day event of encouragement and fellowship in Harlem for New Yorkers and beyond.

Given the huge success of the celebration, additional days were added to showcase the community’s rich economic, political, and cultural history.

Festival of New York 

Festival of New York (FNY) is a citywide collaborative movement featuring 300+ diverse organizations across all sectors spanning from Memorial Day to Labor Day 2022.

All five boroughs will host events and activities spanning from world-class performances, concerts, film screenings, and family fairs to community service opportunities, participatory arts and culture experiences, and career expos.

Participating organizations include Apollo Theater, Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Queens Night Market, Coney Island, USA, New York Botanical Garden, Staten Island Children’s Museum, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and many more.
