Swizz Beatz Releases Two New Songs From Godfather Of Harlem Soundtrack (Video)

August 6, 2021

Epic Records and GRAMMY Award-winning iconic producer, rapper, DJ, entrepreneur, and cultural connoisseur and Alicia Keys husband Swizz Beatz serve up more new music from Godfather of Harlem soundtrack. The new single “Waiting On Me” [feat. Swizz Beatz, YG, BIA, & Giggs] and “Please Forgive Me” [feat. Swizz Beatz & Larry June] just dropped ahead of the EPIX series’ second half of season two, which premieres Sunday, August 8th, 2021.

“Waiting On Me” nods to old school New York hip hop with its hard-hitting bounce and head-nodding grooves.

A classic Swizz production, this robust beat ignites the interplay between YG, BIA, and Giggs who turn up with intense and quotable rhymes of their own, while Swizz’s hook sticks and moves with infectious energy.

As executive producer of the official soundtrack album, Swizz Beatz has carefully assembled a bevy of bulletproof bangers for this next round of music from season two.

Thus far, songs from the soundtrack have amassed over ten million-plus streams and earned widespread critical acclaim report the Music Universe.

The show stars and is executive produced by Forest Whitaker. ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, produces the series.

Godfather of Harlem Season 2 finds Bumpy Johnson battling the New York Crime Families for control of the lucrative and murderous “French Connection,” the pipeline for heroin that runs from Marseilles to New York Harbor.

With a distribution syndicate that includes black crime bosses from other major US cities, Bumpy takes a cue from his friend Malcolm X’s message of black economic nationalism.

His ambitious plan will face challenges from not only the Italians but his wife Mayme, daughter Elise, rival Adam Clayton Powell, prosecutor Robert Morgenthau, and even Malcolm himself.

Once again, Godfather of Harlem explores the collision of the criminal underworld and civil rights in the colorful, the tumultuous year of 1964.
