Eight NYC schools were awarded the coveted title of National Blue Ribbon School Monday by the U.S. Department of Education and one of those schools was Harlem’s Success Academy Harlem 2.
The schools were among 349 recognized this year — 300 public and 49 private — for their academic excellence with each borough landing a school on the list. Now in its 36th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has highlighted more than 8,800 educational institutions that have test scores in the top 15 percent in their state and no major gaps among students from different demographics.
The U.S. Department of Education will honor the schools at an award ceremony in Washington, D.C. come November.
