On Wednesday, May 14th 10:00a.m, Sylvia’s Restaurant, the world renowned culinary icon gets a new address that pays homage to its late founder, Sylvia Woods, the Queen of Soul Food, who passed away in July of 2012. “Sylvia P. Woods Way” will adorn the avenue that occupies the 51 year old restaurant, its special events space/lounge – Sylvia’s Also’s, 5 apartment buildings, and 3 lots. The Woods Family, owners of Sylvia’s restaurant and the aforementioned real estate, are in plans to break ground later this year on the construction of a new Sylvia’s Restaurant and lounge.
