Our friends at Uptown Grand Central reported in their current newsletter that a dose of spontaneous beauty happened along East 125th Street this past weekend.
Thanks to local schoolteacher Sheena Jeszelle and friends who said:
“I just had a late-night idea that my friends helped me make come to life,” she said. “I live in Harlem, I teach in Harlem, and I just wanted to find a way to bring the two parts of my life together and bring some love to the community.”
On Saturday and Sunday, neighbors chipped in some $1,000 to make runs to area bodegas and supermarkets.
They also brought back bouquets for flowers to weave into the words “Black Lives Matter.” in from of the old Path Mark.
As, Bravo, East Harlem!
