The fashion scene in 2022 is expected to be bolder and brighter than ever before.
Whether new trends appear from the catwalks, magazines, or social media pages of influencers, it’s fun to stay on top of all the latest happenings in the sector. However, you never want to look back in a few years and ask yourself what on Earth you were thinking when following that trend.
If you want to stay stylish in this upcoming season, here are six fashion trends to follow in 2022…
Mini-Skirt and Combat Boots
The mini skirt is back but it’s no longer being styled with crop tops and high heels. Now, the mini skirt is paired with chunky combat boots, oversized coats or blazers, and graphic tees. If you’re not the biggest fan of the mini-trend, don’t be afraid to pair your boots with oversized pants.
Cut Out Everything
Cut out dresses, tees, skirts, and even pants are trending this upcoming season. This style is also reminiscent of the 2000’s aesthetic, however, designers like Jacquemus and Stella McCartney have added their own modern spin to the trend.
Green Sunnies
If any colour has had a major comeback this last year it has been the colour green in all of its shades. However, a brightly coloured dress may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Instead, try to add a pop of colour with a pair of green sunnies.
Fringe Is Back
If you threw away your old, fringed leather jacket, you may end up regretting that decision. Fringe is back and in all its glory. Blazers, jackets, capes, and coats are items that look great in fringe, as they add a layer of texture to any outfit. If you have an old coat, you can use sergers to DIY the project and make yourself a completely unique piece.
Over the Knee Boots
Another trend that has once again come around is the over the knee boot. Although this was trendy a few years ago, this time they are trending in vivid colours and bold prints. Make sure to keep the rest of your accessories as minimal as possible and truly let the boots do the talking.
Colourful Leather Gloves
If you find it hard to integrate colour into your wardrobe, this is a great way to get started. Leather gloves in bright colours like hot pink, blue, or green, are an excellent way to jazz up your everyday outfits. If you’re looking for some inspiration, head over to Prada.
It’s important to pick and choose your trends wisely. If you’re not convinced, don’t bite the bullet, especially since some trends finish faster than they started. Stick to what works best with your own personal style and shape.
Above all you want to be looking and feeling confident in your own clothes. Last but not least, have fun with your fashion choices. Life is too short to dress boring, so don’t hesitate to express yourself and let your creativity shine.
