Silent Voices United Inc., Hosts First Halloween R Us Monster Ball For Kids

October 31, 2024

Silent Voices United Inc. is thrilled to announce the Halloween R Us Children’s Monster Ball, a Halloween celebration designed exclusively for children.

The event takes place on Thursday, October 31, from 3 PM to 7 PM at the historic Apollo Stages at The Victoria, 233 West 125th Street.

This landmark event is made possible by the Apollo’s Culture Forward Program, which has opened doors for small community-focused nonprofits to bring meaningful cultural events to Harlem.

The Halloween R Us Children’s Monster Ball is more than just a Halloween party—it’s a safe, inclusive space where children can experience the joy of Halloween while learning essential safety skills. The Apollo Theater’s Culture Forward Program has allowed Silent Voices United Inc. to host this event in a professional, iconic setting, complete with high-quality lighting, sound, and a dedicated staff, ensuring an unforgettable experience for Harlem’s youngest residents.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Candy Bags and Halloween Books for Every Child: Each child will go home with a bag of treats and a copy of ’Twas More Than Just a Little Halloween, providing a Halloween-themed story for families to enjoy together.
  • Fun Games and Festive Activities: From face painting and musical chairs to a costume contest, kids will experience the excitement of Halloween in a supportive, vibrant atmosphere.
  • Essential Safety Training: In partnership with local agencies, the event will feature CPR training and fire safety education, equipping children and families with critical life-saving skills while reinforcing a commitment to community safety.

The Halloween R Us Children’s Monster Ball represents a powerful community effort, with Silent Voices United Inc. working to provide a safe, enriching environment for children. This event underscores the Apollo Theater’s ongoing commitment to Harlem’s cultural and artistic vitality, fostering community unity and a spirit of celebration.

“Our goal is to create a safe space where Harlem’s children can celebrate Halloween in a fun and educational setting,” said Tiffany Fulton, Founder of Silent Voices United Inc. “Thanks to the Apollo’s Culture Forward Program, we’re able to make this vision a reality, transforming Halloween into a day of both joy and learning.”

The Apollo’s Culture Forward Program has given small, mission-aligned nonprofits like Silent Voices United Inc. access to premier venues and support, including subsidized rental fees and the use of high-quality technical equipment and professional staff. This access allows organizations to focus on serving the community while delivering unforgettable experiences that uplift and inspire Harlem.

The Halloween R Us Children’s Monster Ball is free and open to children ages Pre-K to 13. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as space is limited.
