Sign Up For The Summer Senior Employment Program in Harlem

west harlem art developmentWest Harlem Development Corporation announces its third-annual Summer Seniors Employment Program, which employs Community District 9 residents who are 55-years-old or older. Summer Seniors Employment Program is connecting residents of Community District 9 with part-time, paid service positions at local nonprofits for up to 120 hours this summer. This is a great opportunity to remain active over the summer, utilize your existing talents or develop new skills, while earning $10/hour.

Eligible Participants Are:
  • Age 55+
  • Living in West Harlem’s Community District 9 (Manhattan Community District 9 is defined S to N: from 110th Street to 155th Street; E to W: from St. Nicholas, Bradhurst, Edgecombe, Morningside and Manhattan Avenues to the Hudson River.)
  • Interested in serving the community while earning a modest stipend
Attendance is mandatory for new participants in the program. Returning participants do not need to attend. Please also share this with a friend!
  • Thursday, April 23, 1:30pm – 3:00pm (this session translated to Spanish), Hamilton Grange Library 503 W. 145th St. – Auditorium (between Amsterdam & Broadway)
  • Tuesday, April 28, 12:00pm – 1:30pm (this session translated to Spanish), George Bruce Library (light lunch will be served) 518 W. 125th St. – Auditorium (between Amsterdam & Broadway)
