On Friday, January 13, 2017 the Schomburg held its 5th Annual Center’s Black Comic Book Festival 2017 at the Schomburg Center For Research, of course in Harlem, NY.
There were comic fans of all ages, families, friends, including a limited edition 5th anniversary program booklet, festival T-shirts, and the opportunity to donate samples of attendees comics to the Schomburg’s comic book archive – fun.
The Schomburg’s 5th annual Black Comic Book Festival was co-founded by Deirdre Hollman (Director of Education and Exhibitions), Jerry Craft (Mama’s Boyz and The Offenders), John Jennings (Black Kirby/UC Riverside), and Jonathan Gayles (Georgia State University).
