One of the world’s most popular and talented tap dancers had a dilemma before his appearance and performance on Good Day New York on Wednesday.
Savion Glover had forgotten his tap shoes.
“I called my good friend K. ‘I need tap shoes.’ He lives in Harlem. ‘I need you on 67th St. in 10 minutes.’ He makes it here in 7 minutes,” said Glover.
The dance went off without a hitch and Glover dedicated the performance to K.
“This dance is called K Saved The Day,” said Glover before he took the floor.
The New Jersey native is calling the Joyce Theater in Manhattan “home” for the next several weeks during the run of his show, ‘Om.’
“It’s an experience that allows me to let the audience understand the relationship between my dance and spirituality. It’s an effort to give back to the pioneers and say thank you,” said Glover (source).
