Get ready for a double dose of Japanese flair with the Sakura Collection by Noriko Tabata, as they bring the magic of traditional fabrics to the Big Apple!

First stop: Texworld New York City, where the Sakura Collection stole the show at the Javits Center, New York, NY.

From wool to denim, they showcased a treasure trove of Japanese fabrics, each with its own tale to tell.

But that’s not all! They also hosted the Sakura Collection Fashion Design Award 2024, where budding fashionistas battled it out with threads inspired by “Natsu-Shiozawa” and “Upcycled Denim.” The judging panel? A star-studded lineup including Osamu Saito, Keiko Aoki, and Hervé Pierre.

Then, it was off to the Pierre Hotel for a glitzy exhibition and fashion extravaganza. Top designers like Flora Rabitti, Irina Dzhus, and Sabrina Goh showcased their jaw-dropping collections, blending Japanese tradition with their own creative flair.

From Ojiya-chijimi to Bishu Wool, these designers crafted pieces that are as unique as they are valuable, showcasing the future of fashion in style.

And let’s not forget the dazzling dance performance from the Vissi Dance Theater, highlighting the versatility of these fabrics like never before.

In a nutshell, the Sakura Collection isn’t just about fashion—it’s a cultural sensation that’s taking New York by storm, one thread at a time!

The Sakura Collection:

The Sakura Collection was started in 2012 comprising three missions aimed at “fostering young creators,” “regional revitalization and PR tourism to Japan,” and “promoting cultural and economic exchange,” to develop culture, technology, and the economy through cross-border collaboration.
