This week, a slate of walking and biking improvements are on tap for East Harlem Community Board will host a public discussion with DOT, and the City Council transportation committee will hold an oversight hearing on transportation spending.

- Tuesday: DOT will present pedestrian safety improvements for Park Avenue between 96th and 111th Streets and at 125th Street, as well as new bicycle connections to the Willis Avenue Bridge, to Manhattan Community Board 11. 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday: The City Council transportation committee will hold an oversight hearing on the city’s Fiscal Year 2015 Preliminary Budget, examining funding for the MTA, TLC, and DOT. 10:00 a.m.
- Also Thursday: Join the Transportation Alternatives Manhattan activist committee for its monthly meeting to discuss initiatives to improve bicycling, walking, and transit in Manhattan. 6:30 p.m (source).
