Restaurateur Elhadji Cisse Elevates Harlem’s Dining Scene With PB Brasserie

September 12, 2024

Elhadji Cisse, a well-known figure in Harlem’s restaurant landscape, is set to unveil Pb Brasserie Steak House, a fine dining establishment that promises to bring a taste of upscale dining to the neighborhood.

Located at 60 West 125th Street in Harlem, NY, this new venue spans 4,500 square feet and features a spacious 200-seat dining room, a 35-seat bar, and a private dining area, making it a prime spot for both casual and special occasions.

French Fare with a Twist

Cisse describes PB Brasserie as “another level of dining,” aiming to deliver the same quality and experience that diners would expect in downtown Manhattan. The menu will showcase a range of French-inspired dishes, with entrees priced between $30 and $80.

Highlights include Salmon Béarnaise with fingerling tomatoes and Brussels sprouts, Grilled Whole Branzino with root vegetables and Chilean Sea Bass with garlic spinach and crème à l’ail.

In addition to its culinary offerings, PB Brasserie will feature live jazz on Wednesdays and vibrant DJs on Fridays and Saturdays, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests.

    A Vision for Harlem’s Future

Cisse, who has been a resident of Harlem since 1995, is no stranger to the restaurant business, having previously opened successful establishments like Harlem Café and Ponty Bistro. With PB Brasserie, he aims to carve out a unique niche in Harlem’s evolving dining scene. “We have [celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson’s] Red Rooster, but my concept is different,” he noted, emphasizing the restaurant’s distinct ambiance and expansive space.

    Community Impact and Growth

The opening of PB Brasserie is not just about fine dining; it also represents a commitment to the local community. Cisse plans to employ between 20 and 30 staff members, contributing to the area’s economic growth. The restaurant is part of a larger development that includes 140 residential units, further activating the block and enhancing the neighborhood’s vibrancy.

As PB Brasserie open its doors, Cisse’s vision for a premier dining experience in Harlem is set to transform the local culinary landscape, inviting both residents and visitors to indulge in a taste of elevated cuisine.
