Renaissance Hotels, a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s diverse hotel portfolio, inaugurates its fifth property in New York City, the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel.

Located on the historic site of the Victoria Theater on 125th Street, this highly anticipated hotel, boasting the original landmark marquee, is positioned in the heart of Harlem, steps away from the iconic Apollo Theater.

“…the hotel preserves the essence of the historic Victoria Theater…”

As the tallest building north of Central Park, the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel features 211 guest rooms and suites, a vibrant culinary offering, and over 9,000 square feet of event space. Combining the lively spirit and cultural richness of Harlem with the refined glamour of the Harlem Renaissance era, the hotel preserves the essence of the historic Victoria Theater in its design, including the outer facade, marquee, outdoor ticket booth, and elegant staircase.

Designed by AJC design, the hotel pays homage to Harlem’s past, present, and future, celebrating cultural icons like Billie Holiday, Josephine Baker, Louis Armstrong, and Cab Calloway. The 211 guest rooms, comprising singles, doubles, and suites, feature Langston Hughes quotes, expansive views of Harlem and Central Park, plush bedding, and modern amenities.

The hotel’s restaurant, The Victoria, operated by Silk Hospitality Group, offers a menu by Executive Chef Bobby Bouyer that creatively blends modern global cuisine with classic techniques, highlighting influences from the Gulf Region of the American South. Signature dishes include “Shrimp n’ Grits,” “Hot Chicken Sandwich,” and “Pepper Pot Beef Brisket.”

The culinary experience extends to an imaginative cocktail program inspired by Harlem’s historic tapestry, with reinvented classics like the Jaded Sazerac and the Victoria Cosmopolitan.

Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel aims to be a neighborhood hotspot, hosting ‘Evenings at Renaissance’ with nightly jazz performances and local arts events, fostering a sense of community for both travelers and locals.

With over 9,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, the hotel is suitable for various occasions, accommodating up to 300 people. Its central location on 125th Street, near The Apollo and Central Park, provides easy access to iconic landmarks and cultural institutions.

“…a local neighborhood expert, assisting guests in exploring … attractions…”

To enhance the guest experience, the hotel offers the services of the Renaissance Navigator, a local neighborhood expert, assisting guests in exploring nearby attractions such as The National Jazz Museum of Harlem and The Schomburg Center for Black Culture.

The grand opening of Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel featured a unique event, ‘Checking In, Harlem,’ a collaborative listening session bringing together community leaders, creators, and neighbors to explore and discuss future brand programs that benefit local communities.

“…the revitalization of Harlem while honoring its cultural legacy….”

Owned by Lam Generation and managed by Real Hospitality Group, the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel is set to contribute to the revitalization of Harlem while honoring its cultural legacy.
