On Thursday, October 27, 2016, World of Children Award hosted their annual gala at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. 
The organization is dedicated to setting the gold standard in child advocacy. The sole mission of World of Children Award is to improve the lives of vulnerable children by funding and elevating the most effective changemakers for children worldwide.
The evening began with The Children’s Aid Society Chorus greeting guests with the World of Children Award theme song followed by opening remarks from President & CEO US Fund for UNICEF Caryl M. Stern. Actress Brooke-Burke Charvet and News Correspondent Alina Cho served as the Masters of Ceremonies while World of Children Award honored five individuals for their heroic work with children –Dusica Popadic (Protection Award), Claire Wineland (Youth Award), Jimmy Drekore (Health Award), Iyyappan Subramaniyan (Humanitarian Award), Ponheary Ly (Education Award). The evening came to a close after Lily Aldridge Followill and Stephanie March were also honored for their extensive efforts with children.
