The East Coast Car Association hosted its 26th annual Toy Run for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children on Sunday, November 17th, 2024.
“… delivering smiles and holiday cheer to (the) most critically ill and injured children …”
Over 100 cars and motorcycles, filled with toys, traveled across Queens from Forest Park to St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside, delivering smiles and holiday cheer to some of New York’s most critically ill and injured children.
In addition to the toy delivery, a generous donation was presented to support St. Mary’s specialized programs and services. Since 1999, the association has raised more than $200,000 for St. Mary’s, the only provider of pediatric long-term and rehabilitative care in the region.
“We are incredibly grateful to the East Coast Car Association for their continued generosity in spearheading this heartwarming event year after year for our patients,” said Dr. Edwin Simpser, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. “Every toy, donation, and act of kindness makes a meaningful difference, bringing joy and hope to New York’s most medically fragile children.”
“… provides a continuum of care to children with medically complex conditions …”
St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children has been dedicated to providing specialized care to New York’s most vulnerable children for more than 150 years. St. Mary’s provides a continuum of care to children with medically complex conditions through an in-patient hospital facility in Bayside Queens, as well as home care services and community programs.
St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children
St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children has been the primary provider of long-term and rehabilitative care for New York’s most critically ill and injured children since the 1870s. St. Mary’s Healthcare System is one of only a handful of organizations around the country that is dedicated to providing intensive rehabilitation, specialized care, and education to children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.
