On February 26th, 2016, Pepsico held an event at MIST In Harlem celebrating Black History Month as well as celebrating the next generation of African American creators and influencers. The private event (also sponsored by D’ussé) began with a cocktail reception at the Restaurant, then proceeded to a panel discussion moderated by NBC’s Extra correspondent, AJ Calloway, and featured: Chauncey Hamlett (Sr. Director, Portfolio Activation & Multicultural Strategy – Pepsico), Connie Orlando (Sr. VP of Specials, Music, News – BET), Mikael Moore (General Partner – Wondaland), Zim Ugochukwu (Founder & CEO – Travel Noire), and Adam Carter (VP of Cultural Connections – Pepsico).
After a quick “business pitch” competition, the reception at the Restaurant at MIST continued, with music by Austin Millz. The event ended with a performance by Wondaland/Epic recording artist Jidenna.
