NY Daily News reports that one man died and one woman was lucky to survive in two separate motorcycle crashes Saturday, police said.
A 28-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after she crashed her motorcycle on the FDR Drive in East Harlem about 9 a.m., cops said.
The biker was heading north when she lost control of her green-colored motorcycle near E. 101st St. and slammed into a highway median.
Arriving medics found her sprawled out on the ground several feet from her motorcycle. She was conscious and speaking with first responders as medics put her on a stretcher and took her to Harlem Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Several hours later, a 27-year-old motorcyclist T-boned a Nissan SUV making a U-turn on University Ave. near W. Fordham Road in University Heights, the Bronx. The victim tried to pass the SUV on the left when he hit the vehicle about 3:30 p.m., cops said.
Medics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died from trauma to his head and body, police said. His name was not immediately released.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and was unhurt. No charges were filed.
