An 18-month old toddler died last night after her parents found her unconscious and unresponsive in the back of a tractor trailer cab in Harlem, police told Gothamist.
A NYPD spokesperson said that the baby girl, her 10-year-old older brother and her mother were in the sleeper cab of their father’s tractor trailer while he was making a delivery to a 99 cent store near West 150th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. The girl’s mother noticed that she wasn’t breathing and called the police.
Police who responded to the call at about 8:45 p.m. last night rushed the baby to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The baby was identified as Michaela Henry of Hartford, Connecticut. A cause of death has not been determined yet.
