… Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) Commissioner Julie Menin, and Writers Guild of America, East Executive Director Lowell Peterson will celebrate the success of the Made in NY Writers Room Fellowship.The reception will mark the end of the six-month fellowship which aims to boost diversity in the city’s entertainment industry by supporting NYC-based writers from diverse backgrounds.




Participating mentors included Lee Daniels (Empire), Beau Willimon (House of Cards), Julie Klausner (Difficult People), Richard LaGravenese (The Divide), Anya Epstein (The Affair), Michael Rauch (Royal Pains), Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky (Odd Mom Out), Robert Carlock (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Jonathan Tropper (Banshee), Matt Williams (Home Improvement), Tom Scharpling (Monk), and Norman Steinberg (Cosby)

Participating fellows have already achieved successes including being hired as a Showrunner’s Assistant on an upcoming Starz series and receiving this year’s Showtime Tony Cox Award for Television Writing.

The event will begin with formal remarks.
