Nike Drops Harlem’s A$AP Bari Amid Sexual Allegations

July 31, 2017

Update: Nike has released an official statement on A$AP Bari and VLONE. It reads:

“We can confirm we are no longer working together.”Nike has cut ties with A$AP Bari, according to Jian DeLeon of High Snobiety.

This move comes just weeks after a highly controversial Instagram stories video with adult content was posted by @soledout on Instagram, which depicted the Harlem native in a hotel room with his entourage as well as a female. After the video was posted, Bari took to Twitter to issue a public statement regarding the matter. Bari’s first foray with Nike came to fruition by way of a VLONE x Air Force 1 collaboration that debuted at Complex Con last November. He teamed with Nike for a pop-up experience in Harlem earlier this year in February 2017, with the Air Force 1 release rising to be one of the most coveted sneakers of the year.

In addition, his VLONE label has grown to the point where a full runway show debut in Paris just weeks ago. A$AP Bari’s VLONE has also collaborated with Hiroshi Fujiwara and his fragment design label.
