Join us on Monday, December 16th, 2024, at 7 pm at Harlem’s CCNY Aaron Davis Hall New York, New York.
Harlem’s New Heritage Theatre Group (NHTG), New York State’s oldest Black nonprofit theater, proudly announces its 60th Anniversary Gala and the launch of the NHTG Endowment for the Future, which will help secure the future of one of Harlem’s most influential cultural and enduring institutions for generations to come.
This milestone celebration will occur at the historic Marian Anderson Theatre at Aaron Davis Hall, City College of New York (115 Convent Avenue, between 133rd and 135th Streets), on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 7 PM. Two extraordinary and passionate supporters of NHTG, Inez E. Dickens, New York State Assembly Member, and Gale Brewer, New York City Council Member, both of whom serve as Co-Honorary Chairs of the NHTG Endowment for the Future, will be honored during the Gala.
The 60th Anniversary Gala, hosted by award-winning actress Phyllis Yvonne Stickney and Andre Robinson, Jr., will also celebrate NHTG’s tireless leaders, the remarkable Voza Rivers and Jamal Joseph. “As we celebrate this milestone, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey that began 60 years ago with my dear friend and co-founder, the late Roger Furman. Together, with an amazing team, we built New Heritage Theatre Group with a vision to amplify voices of color and nurture the next generation of artists and storytellers. This Gala is a testament to our enduring commitment to Harlem, the community that has nurtured me my entire life, and a celebration of the transformative power of art to inspire, uplift, and create lasting change,” Voza Rivers, Executive Producer, New Heritage Theatre Group
The 60th Anniversary Gala begins at 7:00 PM and doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are complimentary but going fast—don’t miss your chance to join us!
