Neil Patrick Harris Gives G & A Tour In Harlem Townhouse For The Holidays (Video)

December 21, 2016

Back in 2015, How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka opened up the doors of their beautiful Harlem townhouse and invited Architectural Digest in for a tour. When the couple bought the house for $3.6 million, it was the most expensive sale Harlem had ever seen—but the space needed a lot of work.

This holiday season, Harris and Burtka invited cameras back into their home for Vogue’s entertaining 73 Questions series, giving yet another peek into their now artfully finished prewar home (h/t Apartment Therapy).

In the video, the camera follows Harris throughout the house while Harris answers 73 of the most random questions.

As funny as it is to watch Harris answer questions like “What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done?,” it’s also nice to marvel at the space itself. NPH and Burtka have restored much of its original details like fireplace mantels, wainscoting, and shuttered windows. There’s also plenty of quirky personal design elements, like the diner booth from How I Met Your Mother, for instance, along with a full antique bar off the living room and an apothecary cabinet full of whacky parting gifts for guests. “ I wanted it to be like some adventurers club with a genius bar inside,” Harris said when asked what the vision was for the home.
