New York Daily News reports that the NYPD have detained a woman they are calling a “person of interest” in connection with a stabbing that left a Harlem mom dead and her daughter seriously injured early Tuesday, officials said.
The violence erupted just after 2 a.m. in a building on Lenox Ave. near W. 115th St.
Police said neighbors in the building were arguing on the ninth floor, and the female resident of one apartment suddenly pulled a knife and attacked the two victims.
The 38-year-old mom was stabbed in the chest, and her 21-year-old daughter suffered wounds to the chest and one arm.
Paramedics took the two women to Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, where the mom could not be saved. Her daughter was listed in stable condition early Tuesday.
The woman now held by cops has not been charged.
