January 23, 2018

Last Thursday evening, in New York City, Iman, held his Private Listening Event at Quad Recording Studios located in Midtown. The event was hosted by Mike Yi of VIBE in honor of Iman’s new project Blessed.

Hip hop pulsed through Quad with vibes that only got better as the listening session continued. In a Q&A setup, Iman, and host Mikey Fresh went through Blessed track by track for the press and media to absorb. As each track played, Iman provided a captivating background story to each section of the project. You could feel the appreciation from the crowd. The vast appreciation for the project and hip hop culture in general lead to an unplanned rap cypher which included Chris Rivers the son of Hip Hop legend, Pig Pun. It was definitely a night to remember!

Notable guests included Unique Chapman (ThatsEnuff.com), Mecc (AllHipHop), Terrell Blair (HLM Media), DJ NOE, Chris Rivers, Jakk Doe, and more.

In a recent premiere, VIBE says, “Songs like “Inner City Blues,” “Open Letter,” “Runs” and “Stop” is where Iman showcases his strength in storytelling as well as capturing hearts and minds with his vivid and sincere wordplay.”
