As you may have heard, Broadway Housing Communities new Sugar Hill Development will be opening soon. Designed by David Adjaye of Smithsonian fame, the project will provide 124 units for low-income New Yorkers: 70 percent of the units are set aside as permanently affordable for families earning 50% of AMI or below, or $42,950 for a family of four. It will also house a universal pre-kindergarten program on the first floor, which will be fully integrated with a new Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling.
Broadway Housing Communities is hosting a preview event with Mayor Bill DeBlasio and Speaker and East Harlem city councilman Mark-Viverito on Monday, June 9 at 11:00am; I hoped you might consider joining us. The event will represent a unique opportunity to see the building and meet the key players before it comes online. The building is located on the corner of 155th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, overlooking Coogan’s Bluff.
