Mayor Bill de Blasio and Harlem’s Street Corner Resources teamed today for a youth town hall meeting to discuss gun violence prevention, jobs, and more with residents in Harlem.
Nearly half (50%) of the youth had had some experience in some way negative with the New York Police Department (NYPD).

The mayor discussed combating gun violence by offering more after-school programs, summer jobs, and trying to build a better relationship with police and youth.
Mayor de Blasio said Thursday’s town hall is just the beginning and hopes to take some of the ideas discussed there and apply them in the borough.
