NBC reports that a man was stabbed with a steak knife inside a Harlem restaurant Friday after refusing to give a panhandler money, according to the NYPD.
Police said the 30-year-old victim was approached by a man asking for money at Pee Dee Steak house in Harlem on West 125th Street between Malcolm X Boulevard and Fifth Avenue.
When the victim declined to give the panhandler money, he stabbed him in the shoulder with a steak knife and fled, according to the NYPD.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the knife from his shoulder. He is in stable condition.
