A man was arrested Tuesday for the fatal shooting of a 61-year-old woman who was hit by a stray bullet while playing dominoes in a Harlem park last summer.
Cops busted 25-year-old Abraham Vah and charged him with murder for allegedly shooting Odessa Simms in the neck at the Colonel Charles Yong Playground on August 20, 2017.
Simms, a retired mother of five, was an avid domino and card player who played at the park nearly every day with her husband of 36 years by her side, friends said.
She was hit by a bullet as the gunman was trying to chase down a rival who was running down Lenox Avenue.
Vah was being treated at an area hospital Tuesday when he told staff that he information about a homicide, according to police.
While Vah was questioned by detectives, he made incriminating statements and was later arrested for the Harlem shooting. He has 12 prior convictions.
