Many cite Kanye West for birthing a generation of MCs, but it’s Ma$e who influenced him early on. After a lengthy hiatus, the former Bad Boy has since returned to rap and more importantly supplies us with a track today called “Why Can’t We.”
More than 10 years after Harlem World‘s release, Ma$e proves that he can still craft a record for the ladies with this melodic cut. This, of course, sounds a lot different than vintage hits like “What You Want.” Ma$e’s memorable flow remains in tact, though.
Fans will be excited to hear that the rapper is working on a new album called Now We Even. Ma$e also named a list of artists like Jay Z, Cam’ron, Meek Mill, Drake, 2 Chainz, and more that he’d like to collaborate with on the project.
We’ll have to see whether or not Ma$e can deliver in the new year, but until then spin “Why Can’t We” a time or two below.
