Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Announces 2025 Opportunities For Artists And Organizations

August 8, 2024

Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) announces applications are now open for the 2025 Manhattan Arts Grants and 2025 SU-CASA supporting arts projects across Manhattan.

LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants celebrate the importance of the arts to a resilient New York City and contribute to the sustainability of our diverse communities that call Manhattan home.

In 2024, LMCC awarded over $1.6 million in support of over 250 projects across the borough by individual artists, groups, and organizations.

This year, LMCC continues to offer an accessible, streamlined application. With funds provided by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) and the Howard Gilman Foundation, LMCC’s Manhattan Arts Grants offer access to four sources of funding through one single application form with grants of $4,000, $8,000, $12,000, and $16,000.

Additionally, LMCC’s SU-CASA provides Manhattan individual artists with teaching opportunities at Manhattan older adult centers to carry out unique hands-on arts learning experiences from January to June, 2025.

Artists in all disciplines are welcome, and no previous experience working with older adults is needed. We highly encourage artists who can teach in Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese to apply!

For both programs, the application deadline is Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 5:00 pm EST. The maximum grant is $16,000, and projects must take place in Manhattan in 2025.

LMCC staff will be hosting information sessions this summer to offer an overview of both programs and recommendations for preparing a strong application.
