lupus1Harlem World Magazine loves when people give back, Micheal B Jordan and other stars gave back when Lupus LA presented its Annual Get Lucky for Lupus LA Celebrity Poker Tournament and Party last night at historic Avalon nightclub at Hollywood & Vine last night. lupus2Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Cabrera, Amanda Righetti, Kellie Martin, Black-ish’s Allen Maldonado, Omar Benson Miller, Scott Grimes, Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, Eddie Matos, Phill Lewis, Erik Valdez, poker star’s Tiffany Michele and Maria Ho, Jessica Hall, Verne Troyer, Mike Mizanin and more were among the celebrities that came to support Lupus LA, which raises funds for lupus research and local patient programs.

Lupus LA honored the Band From TV and members Scott Grimes, Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, James Denton, Adrian Pasdar and Jesse Spencer.

lupus8A disease with no cure, lupus affects 1.5 Million people in the US, which is more than cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis combined.  Ninety percent of lupus patients are women. The Get Lucky For Lupus LAevent raises funds for Lupus LA, which promotes lupus research, awareness, and education, and serves the needs of people with lupus and their families in California. In the past twelve years, the event has raised nearly $2.5 Million for the cause.
