Inwood, north of Harlem in New York City is home to many historic side streets—your 125th Streets, or Riverside Drives—that are utterly picturesque, and reminiscent of a Uptown before it became overrun by condos and other new development. Houses on these quaint mews rarely become available, but when they do, we definitely take notice—especially in the case of this 1,500-square-foot house on Sylvan Terrace, which is currently listed for $1.68 million.
The block-long street was once a carriage road leading to the Morris-Jumel Mansion, one of Manhattan’s oldest homes, and in the late 19th-century, lovely little wood-frame cottages were built on either side of the street.
