On Wednesday, April 20, Harlem City Council Member Mark Levine will hold a ceremony to announce the project proposals selected by District 7 residents during this year’s cycle of participatory budgeting. Participatory budgeting creates a more inclusive and transparent government that engages people from all walks of life to become part of the governing process.
For the second straight year, District 7 residents took advantage of the opportunity to determine how to spend more than $1 million of their own tax dollars in the local community. The list of neighborhood projects on this year’s ballot can be found at marklevine.nyc/participatorybudgeting.
