Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership (NMPP) is excited to announce our 4th cycle of Thrive! Women’s Health Initiative. The upcoming 10-week cycle of weekly workshops will begin on Wednesday, October 10th, 5:30-7:30PM, at 127 W 127TH ST (Oberia Dempsey Center).
Thrive! is a 10-week health workshop series that cycles throughout the year. The program aims to reduce health disparities among women of color in Harlem and throughout New York City by supporting them in setting and achieving their health goals. We do a variety of health promotion activities geared towards women ages 18-40 around healthy eating, stress reduction, fitness, reproductive health, and other topics. Every 2-hour weekly session includes discussion and activity around different wellness topics, and includes a 30-minute fitness class. We have a lot of fun and each week we try new workouts, such as Zumba, yoga, and hula hooping!
Thrive! is completely FREE of charge, and we have no zip code restrictions or income requirements. We provide a range of incentives for continued participation, such as MetroCards, gift cards, water bottles, etc. We also recently opened a small fitness space in our building that is open to our Thrive participants! Please see the attached flyer and information sheet, and feel free to distribute widely.
