East Harlem Council woman Melissa Mark-Viverito this Wednesday, April 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, we will hold a special reception in the Council Chambers at City Hall to salute the volunteers and first responders who did so much for El Barrio/East Harlem, in the aftermath of the Harlem explosion. All are welcome!
In the wake of the building collapse in El Barrio/East Harlem, we all witnessed the bravery and hard work of so many individuals who went above and beyond the call of duty. These women and men helped stabilize the area of the explosion and provided critical support to impacted families.
I hope Harlemites pack the Chambers with members of the council to echo the deep gratitude we all feel for the volunteers’ and first responders’ tireless work. Please RSVP to eventscoordinator@council.nyc.gov.
One more thing, April 7th, 2014 is the Participatory Budgeting unveiling celebration, where the council women will reveal this year’s winning projects. The celebration will be held at the Johnson Center (1833 Lexington Ave) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
