The Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, also known as the “Harlem AKAs” will host two events in May & June, 2017. AKA 1908 Playground Project is a volunteer opportunity in conjunction with NYC It’s My Park Day for Harlem residents to come out and restore, refresh and renew a local playground. The event will take place at Howard Bennett Playground on W. 135th Street and Lenox Avenue. The ladies invite patrons to join in gardening, cleansing and preserving the park.
Additionally, the Harlem AKAs will be hosting a fundraiser party to benefit their non-profit entity. Pink Ice 2017 will take place on Friday, June 2nd, 2017, at The Ainsworth Midtown NYC on 45 West 33rd Street from 6-11 pm.
It will be an evening of socializing, networking, dancing and splendor.
Tickets are available at akatauomega.com/events. 100% of the proceeds will benefit community service and scholarship programs.
The Harlem AKAs host a number of service programs and events that serve the Harlem community.
