Jean Shafiroff Celebrates Thanksgiving, Spotlights Mission Society’s Empowerment Legacy From Harlem And Beyond

Philanthropist and board member Jean Shafiroff hosted an elegant Thanksgiving cocktail party in Manhattan to honor the Mission Society of New York City.

“…breaking the cycle of multigenerational poverty …”

Founded in 1812, the Mission Society is dedicated to breaking the cycle of multigenerational poverty by empowering the city’s most underserved families. Through academic enrichment, college access, and workforce development programs in Harlem, as well as 12 public school programs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, the organization has been a steadfast force for positive change.

Over 100 guests attended the celebration, embracing the festive atmosphere imbued with gratitude and compassion. Jean Shafiroff, renowned for her commitment to various charitable causes, chose to shine a spotlight on the Mission Society of New York City, an institution with a rich history of uplifting underserved communities for over two centuries.

Reflecting on the event, Jean Shafiroff stated, “The tireless efforts of the Mission Society of NYC in providing education, mentorship, workforce development, mental health support, and other wraparound services to underserved communities align with my passion for creating positive change.”
