HW Pick: Janelle Monáe Free For Capital One Bank Customers At SummerStage In Central Park

janelle monae in summerstageJust when you thought the outdoor concert season was coming to an end, City Parks Foundation and Capital One Bank are happy to announce a free exclusive concert for Capital One Bank customers featuring Janelle Monáe, Nate Ruess, and DJ Moma on Thursday, September 29, at SummerStage in Central Park.

As part of Capital One Bank’s presenting sponsorship of SummerStage, the bank is thrilled to close the season by hosting Janelle Monáe and Nate Ruess exclusively for their customers.

To get your complimentary tickets go to the Capital One Branch at 853 Broadway in Union Square, on Thursday, September 15 from 4pm – 7pm, and show your Capital One Bank card to get two tickets while supplies last. During the ticket giveaway enjoy house music from Everyday People’s DJ Moma, who will offer a preview of what to expect on September 29.

Janelle Monáe is one of the most electrifying and dynamic performers in the business. The six-time GRAMMY award nominee and longtime COVERGIRL recently released the song “Hum Along and Dance (Gotta Get Down)” for The Get Down soundtrack, and will herself star in the upcoming films Moonlight and Hidden Figures. On September 29, fans will also enjoy a performance from singer-songwriter Nate Ruess, lead singer of the bands FUN. and The Format. FUN.’s hit song, “We Are Young” featured Monáe on vocals and won a GRAMMY for Song of the Year. Reuss’s debut solo album, The Grand Romantic, was released in 2015 and was accompanied by a semi-autobiographical film of the same name, commissioned by Apple Music.

SummerStage, New York City’s largest free performing arts festival, kicked off its 31st season in May and presented over 115 free concerts, dance, theater and family programs in 16 parks across all 5 boroughs throughout the summer.
