HW Pick: TLC Features New Show ‘Curvy Brides’ (video)

June 2, 2015

Walkers1Many women from Harlem to Hollywood have dreamt of finding their perfect wedding dress all their lives. The search is often exciting and emotional.

But for those brides with curvier figures, it can be especially trying when most stores only carry smaller sample sizes.

Enter Yukia Walker and Yuneisia Harris – sisters and owners of Curvaceous Couture, a first-of-its-kind bridal salon specializing in couture gowns to fit all body types. Yukia and Yuneisia have made it their mission to help curvy brides look and feel amazing in the right dress for their figure on their special day.

In the series, the ladies will deal with shy brides, diva brides and even one pregnant bride who came in to find a dress a week before the wedding. That bride explained that she’d been told ‘we don’t serve pregnant brides’ by several of the stores she visited. She got a warm reception at Curvaceous Couture. “All curves are beautiful,” Yuneisia insists.

Here’s a teaser:

Curvy Brides is an inspirational reminder to women that you don’t have to be a size 2 to look beautiful on your big day.
